Presentation of the Film “THE TRUTHS OF THE MADMAN”

Dakar, Senegal (MAT)- The Konrad Adenauer Foundation (FKA) will show on Thursday at 18h, at its premises in Dakar, the movie “The truths of the madman”, a film by Cheikh Bamba Diop devoted to the scholar Thierno Seydou Sall, announced a statement received in APS.

“The director, in this film, draws the attention of the people about the life of the scholar Thierno Seydou Sall, a wandering poet to subversive writings, regarded by many as the idiot of the village ,” says the text.

“Thierno Seydou Sall takes advantage of the importance of oral tradition and tries to introduce a new system of social communication with the accompaniment of two musicians,” says the same source.

It explains that “the main actor of the film wants to provoke a positive change in people’s behavior”, based on “relevant and provocative poetry.”

Thierno Seydou Sall “defies traditions that it deems inconvenient and poses issues that were previously taboo in the society, in order to provide a new model of democracy for people by encouraging them to take control of their destiny.”
